Would highly recommend SPA World in Fyshwick, Canberra. Elaine is super helpful and really knows the. Vortex product. She was able to provide us with alot more product knowledge which covered things that we had not considered.
Elaine from Fyshwick Spa World was absolutely excellent - from first contact, through discussions and completion of the purchase. She acted with total integrity, knowledge and helpfulness. Her advice was right and we felt we could rely on her advice for the best choice. Nothing was a trouble and her enthusiasm added to the experience. Our Swim spa has proven to be excellent and we have been supported throughout the process and for the succeeding months in first class manner. We are very grateful to Elaine and unhesitatingly recommend her and the Vortex product. In November last year I decided I wanted to get a spa for hydrotherapy needs. I was recommended to go see Elaine from the Fyshwick store.
I went to spa world and met Elaine.Elaine asked me a few questions and within minutes narrowed it down and gave me her suggestions to suit my needs.I ordered my swim spa (originally thinking I only wanted a small spa.)In February I received my swim spa. Its been one of my best purchases to date and wish I had done it sooner.I have used it minimum 4 times a week. My pain has reduced dramatically and my sleep has also improved. If you've been thinking of buying a spa I highly recommend spa world in particular Elaine from the Fyshwick store. She was very helpful and extremely knowledgable. No question was too much. She also insisted to help with the set up of the swim spa once we had filled it up.The service from the start to after I received my spa has been exceptional.I already have and will continue to recommend spa world to my family and friends. We purchased our Vortex Swim Spa in late January, which was delivered early April.
From start to finish I have nothing but positive things to say about our experience. We entered the shop with only a vague idea of what we were looking for. Elaine greeted us and was professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. No question was too hard or too silly. We were given the information we sought and the space to explore the different models on display ourselves.
Elaine provided us with all the information and contacts (electrician etc) we needed to make a decision and get the process started. Despite contacting Elaine frequently to get a status update or ask any questions we thought of, she was always prompt, helpful, patient and friendly. Elaine’s service made us feel valued and important as customers. After the spa was delivered and installed (again, fantastic service with nothing but praise), we contacted Elaine to go through the initial setup and, despite it being her day off, she took the time to patiently walk us through everything, step by step, and answer our questions. The swim spa itself: absolutely amazing.
Our main motivation for a swim spa was for low impact exercise. Hubby and I have lost 7-10kgs each so far.
The spa has also helped us drastically with mobility and flexibility. We also spend a huge amount of time in there relaxing as a family. We purchased the additional heat pump and even in the cold 5 degree weather we’ve been having, we have comfortably spent considerable time in there.I can not recommend SpaWorld and their swim spas highly enough! Recently purchased a Spectrum spa from Vortex spas in Osborne Park and we could not be happier with it! From sales to delivery, it was flawless.
Mark (sales manager) was very helpful in explaining everything from maintenance and answering all our questions and what sized spa was most suited for our us. He was literally just at the other end of the line. He was great and kept the spa in store with a fixed price until we were ready to have it. The delivery people were also very accommodating as we didn't have much allowance at the sides for it to be wheeled in but they were able to work around it - this way we didn't have to pay huge amounts for a hiab crane! After sales is also very helpful with a live chat plus a website with a huge list of answers for anything and everything spa-related. Will highly recommend this company!!!
Ordered a spa from Gregory Hills, they are obviously on commission and if you walk in to ask a question and it’s not your sales person they tell you to come back as they can’t help you. Also the spa I got delivered is in the name of another person and they did nothing about this, saying that it’s the same spa. Why when creating the sale do they assign you a particular one from there stock, when clearly that isn’t the case. Also I ordered the lifter for the cover only to discover on delivery that it is not installed, so can’t use the spa as I can’t lift cover and I have a lifter in the box.I rang there office and they said due to not being told at time of the sale that the lifter comes in a box for owner to install that they’d get someone out to install it for me. That was nearly 2 months ago it’s never being installed. What a total wasn’t of $13 K a spa I can’t use and still unsure if it’s the one I ordered as this was in a different name as mentioned, store offered no help what so ever, hence ringing there office, not but that did much either. From the first time we decided to look at purchasing a spa there was a lot of questions in our minds and we were confused about so many aspects of owning and operating a spa.Peter at Northlakes was so helpful and informative at a level we could understand that it was a no brainer to go ahead with the purchase. From that point on everyone connected with spa world was fantastic including the delivery guys who not just delivered the spa but took the time to explain every aspect of the functions and operations of the spa. Then we had a follow up to see if everything was as it should be and could they be of further assistance.
WOW a company that really cares after the money has been transferred. We could not speak more highly of this company and we can now say tthat we use our spa EVERY day. Don't delay deciding to purchase a spa any longer.
I have been pondering over owning a spa for 10 years, did the rounds of all Brisbane retail stores, checked out all brands and Spa World by far had the best service and offerings. If in Brisbane, ask for Michelle.
Her service and product advice was outstanding. Michelle even answered her phone to assist me on her days off.
Thanks Spa World, I should have made this purchase years ago. I use my spa every day, no issues and extremely easy to look after. Jeannie I was told by Elaine not to turn the spa off instead to keep it running as it work out to be cheaper. All we do is reduce the water temperature.
Hi Jeannie, it is more economical to leave your spa running. Your spa has a pre set sleep timer set from 10pm - 7am. During this time, your spa will not engage in heating or filtration. The other option would be to put your spa into away mode when you are not using it. This means your spa will not heat and will only run 1 hour of filtration daily to prevent the water from becoming stagnant. If you need anymore advise please feel free to contact our customer support hub on 1300-895-902.

“The typical 12′ x 24′ rectangular (288 sq.ft. Of water surface area) concrete pool will cost around $72 per square foot. Typical extras raise that cost to about $103 per square foot.”For more information, head over to,and for construction advice, head over to – CJG Pools and EarthWorks!

Then there was the upkeepI went to the October 2012 home show and gave myself a $100 budget to buy a new camp chair.
Didn’t get the camp chair but I did buy a $25,000 swim spa. Best purchase I’ve ever made. We swam in it right through winter (heated to 34oC) and my child wants to live in it through summer.Jets make a fabulous whirlpool effect for fun and games. Not a fan of the swim jets for swimming because I don’t like the water gushing in my face, but I bought a $70 system from the US that allows me to swim on the spot without the jets on.I got mine from Spa World (Campbelltown). Highly recommend them, particularly for after sales service. They have a technician in Canberra too so there’s no worries there.
I got the Vortex Aquagym ExtremeUpkeep is 2.5 tbsp of lithium a day and rinsing filters each week.Sounds like margarita time!Hey Deborah, so glad you posted, we’ve just been looking at the same thing. One thing that concerns me though is running costs, which I’ve heard can be substantial.
Can I ask how much you estimate the electricity cost to be in a year? Thanks! My electricity has gone up around $1000 for the whole year – not bad considering I run it at 34oC in winter and 32oC in summer. As I said in my original post we use it every day (all jets going too) so it’s money well spent. Joanne at Spa World in Campbelltown is the sales rep I dealt with – very knowledgeable. Make sure you get one with the hybrid heat pump. I’m so happy with my spool I told them to use me as a reference. If you do go ahead let me know and I’ll give you some pointers about installation. Are you still happy with your purchase? We are looking at doing the same and you post was a good read.

During the colder months, you can kind of put your pool into hibernation, but for the past while, we’ve swum in our pool nearly every day and loved it. Some extra considerations:Get an efficient pool pump. The pump runs for 8hrs a day in summer and uses a lot of electricity. Ours is a Hurlcon Viron and can throttle back for circulation.
There are even really cool solar powered DC pumps now.Get salt water chlorination. That way you don’t need to add chlorine all the time.Get a pool robot.
Highly recommend the Polaris jobbies. You plug them in and throw the 12v line into the pool. Drop the robot in and he scrubs and cleans the wall and floor.
Best thing is that he has his own filter basket and doesn’t clog up the filter.Get a really good pool cover. The cover heats the pool, reduces evaporation and keeps some of the leaves etc. It also reduces chlorine loss. When choosing a pool design.
Pick one with lots of space around the stairs. We find that often after a run or cycle or whatever, it’s nice just to sit in the cool on the steps.Hopefully this advice/experience is of some value. The home we bought had a leisure pools install, it was a few years old. I had pump issues and the LP folk were so helpful, even though we didn’t purchase the pool from them.Costs in Canberra are relative because of our wonderful economy/earning capacity, the pool we have with tiling, fences etc would cost you about 45k here, my in laws put the same pool in in Brisbane with similar fencing etc and they were about $35k out of pocket. But on hot days and only having to walk 10ft to your pool, not deal with other peoples screaming kids, and not swimming in strangers urine, a pool is worth every cent. Our land/landscaping is more suited to an above ground pool (which will actually look in ground).I think it’s a great idea. My only regret is we didn’t do it earlier.

They are very dangerous things, and there are so many backyard pool tragedies each year.Steven Levitt, in his book “Freakanomics”, shows that (in the US case) children are around 100 times more likely to be killed by a swimming pool than a gun.
And in the US there are a helluva lot more guns than there are here.
